A Hearing Device is a comfortable and reasonable treatment for hearing issues. It makes some sounds louder so that people with hearing loss can participate more fully in daily life.

Some people are hesitant to get a hearing device because they are afraid it will negatively impact their life and be an inconvenience to use. Others are afraid that a hearing device makes them stand out. This is far from the truth! Hearing devices make it so a person with hearing loss can listen, communicate, and participate more fully in daily activities. A hearing device can help people hear more in both quiet and noisy situations.

There are several ways to use a hearing device, depending on whether hearing loss is worse at a specific range or more general. They can amplify all sound, or only certain frequencies for more fine-tuned hearing restoration. There are three main types of hearing devices. Behind-the-ear hearing devices are worn on the outside of the ear and clip on with a hard plastic case. Many people prefer behind-the-ear hearing devices because they have a comfortable open fit. In-ear hearing devices rest inside the outer portion of the ear, and canal hearing devices rest inside the ear canal itself, discreetly hidden.
